Ganz langsam und viel zu spät kommt der unerfahrene und unsichere Obama mit seinen Statements dort an, wo Sen. John McCain und Sen. Lindsey Graham sofort standen, als die Wahlfälschung im Iran und die brutalen Attacken des Regimes gegen die iranische Bevölkerung offenkundig wurden. Ausreichend ist es immer noch bei weitem nicht, aber deutlich besser als die peinlichen bisheringen Statements. The order to inderdict has not been given yet, but the ship is moving into the area.

Im Irak und im Libanon fanden innerhalb der letzten sechs Monate freie und faire Wahlen statt, in denen Millionen Bürger friedlich abstimmten und sowohl im Irak wie im Libanon den vom Iran unterstützen Extremisten wie der Hizbollah empfindliche Niederlagen zufügten.
Den Iranern wurde das Privileg, das die Iraker und Libanesen genossen, nicht gewährt. Das Mullahregime im Iran hat den Bürgern das Recht, ihre Regierung frei zu wählen durch Einschüchterung, Gewalt und Wahlbetrug vorenthalten. Nicht einmal das, was im Iran anstelle einer freien Wahl stattfindet, nämlich die Abstimmung über vorher vom Regime zugelassene und hinterher bestätigte Kandidaten, geht mittlerweile noch ohne Manipulation von statten. In Middle East negotiations, he told al-Arabiya, America will henceforth „start by listening, because all too often the United States starts by dictating.“
An admirable sentiment. It applies to everyone — Iran, Russia, Cuba, Syria, even Venezuela. Except Israel. Israel is ordered to freeze all settlement activity. As Secretary of State Clinton imperiously explained the diktat: „a stop to settlements — not some settlements, not outposts, not natural-growth exceptions.„

Right after North Korea’s first nuclear test, in October 2006, Senator Bob Menendez explained that the event „illustrates just how much the Bush Administration’s incompetence has endangered our nation.“ The New Jersey Democrat hasn’t said what he thinks North Korea’s second test says about the current Administration, so allow us to connect the diplomatic dots. At the time of the first test, the common liberal lament was that Kim Jong Il was belligerent only because President Bush had eschewed diplomacy in favor of tough rhetoric, like naming Pyongyang to the „axis of evil.“

Von Nordkorea vor die eigene Haustür: Obama wird getestet
Nordkorea provoziert mit einem Atomtest von der Größe der Hiroshima-Bombe und legt gleich mit dem Abfeuern seiner Taeopodong-2 Raketen nach. Obama, der das Problem Nordkorea von Bush, der wiederum das Problem von Clinton geerbt hat, fordert „Action“. Genauer: „Aktionen der internationalen Gemeinschaft“. Offenbar versteht er darunter das Gleiche wie Bush in seiner zweiten Amtszeit, nämlich Dialog, Verhandlungen mit und Hilfe und „Bestechungsgelder“ für Nordkorea. Die oft zitierte „internationale“ oder auch „Völkergemeinschaft“ war im April nicht einmal in der Lage, eine Resolution zu dem Raketentest Nordkoreas zu verabschieden. Was schließt das Verbrecherregime in Nordkoreas daraus, dessen Bio- und Chemiewaffenprogramme kaum einmal erwähnt werden ? Das Ergebnis der Überlegungen kann nur sein, dass die bisherige Strategie, die auch schon gegenüber Clinton und in der zweiten Amtszeit Bushs fruchtete, erst Recht mit der Obama-Administration die erwünschten Ergebnisse erzielen wird. Rasmussen-Umfrage: 49% Oppose Closing Guantanamo Prison Camp
Forty-nine percent (49%) of voters nationwide now disagree with President Barack Obama’s decision to close the prison camp for suspected terrorists at the Guantanamo Naval Base in Cuba. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey, conducted after the President’s speech on Guantanamo last week, shows that 38% agree with his decision. Just 25% share the President’s view that the Guantanamo camp weakened national security. Fifty-one percent (51%) disagree with that perspective. And, by a 57% to 28% margin, voters oppose moving any of the suspected terrorists to prisons in the United States. Republicans and voters not affiliated with either major party strongly oppose transfers to U.S. prisons. Democrats are evenly divided.
